personification of textuality gary e. davis |

Reading expects coherence that derives purely from the author, who is person-ified “behind” the text as constructor and conveyer of the available reading. So, an overtly interpersonal relationship through the text brings oneself to construct authorial presence beyond particular passages showing situational, compositional intent. Is the authoriality that is construed the same as the authoriality of composition? (Does “the” Meaning of the text express the author’s Meaning?) To what degree is that readerly construed authorship implicative of the life of the author apart from the authorship of the text, i.e, informing the reader about the living authoriality that appropriates itself for the sake of cohering text? There’s writing in reading the writing: Who’s “the” author? There’s writing in one’s own speech (Derrida emphasized in Grammatology): What’s the construed difference between Selfality and appropriation of oneself to temporal inter-personal interaction? Is the author of “tropography” lost in space? Surely not at a loss for vanity. next—> phenomenalogy as tropology |
