Con-science: etymologically Latin: from knowing, standardly associated with ethical/moral appreciation. But life-oriental conscience (re: being well) isn’t best regarded as ethically oriented in the standard sense. That selfidentical conscience is best understood as fidelity to the aspiring, authentic Path of one’s life, including interpersonal engagements. an authenitc life which employs standard appreciation for inte-rpersonal engagements. In other words, a good_ life keeps fidelity to one’s ownmost mindfulness. All in all, that ensures fidelity to healthy, intelligent living, served by standard ethical concern. So, a person’s “ethic” of life should beoriented by leading Values which gain “normative” merit due to action-oriental fidelity to those Values, supplemented by interpersonal, normally “ethical,” considerations. |
