A group of voices (that sense of ‘party’) usually intends to be a fruitful engagement without becoming largely fun. Creative play with a group of texts can be fun without loss of scholarly integrity. A conceptual resort can garden ideas carefully while also being scholarly fun. Ordinarily, though, themic pluralism is likely shallow; gardening that is likely casual; and a party of persons is likely boring. So, with all due respect for joys of casual life, I tend to resort to my own parties. |
